الميلا (MILA) لعلاج الانفصال العضلي وتنسيق القوام | MILA: Minimally Invasive Lipoabdominoplasty for Rectus Diastasis and Body Contouring
| Who Is MILA For?
| MILA follows the same principle as repair through bikini-line incisions (SCOLA), with liposuction and some skin tightening added. Dr. Mohamed H. Zidan explains that the surgeon uses the same bikini incisions to tighten the abdominal wall and repair the rectus diastasis, and any hernia, before the plastic surgeon performs liposuction and body contouring. The right candidate has a BMI below 28 and no significant excess skin, which makes MILA the more cosmetic option.

Host: And what about MILA?
Dr. Zidan: Okay. MILA is the same operation as the bikini-scar approach, or SCOLA, but the difference is that we can add liposuction and tighten part of the skin. We use the same bikini-scar incisions, and through them we tighten the abdominal wall and repair the muscle separation, and if there's a hernia we repair it too. Then the plastic surgeon starts the liposuction and body contouring. The patient we choose for this is, as we said, someone with a BMI below 28 and no significant excess skin. So you could say this operation is more cosmetic than the bikini-scar approach.
