المرارة بعد التخسيس‏ | Gallbladder After Weight Loss‎

حصوات المرارة (Gallstones) بتظهر عند حوالي 30% من المرضى بعد النزول السريع في الوزن بعد جراحات السمنة، وأدوية زي Mounjaro وSaxenda كمان بتزيد احتمال حدوثها. د. محمد حسام زيدان بيوضح إن أي ألم في البطن بعد نزول وزن سريع لازم يخلّينا نفكّر في المرارة، وإن السونار على البطن هو الخطوة الأولى للتأكد من وجود حصوات، وبعدها الجراح بيحدد إذا كانت المرارة محتاجة تتشال ولا لأ.‏ | Gallstones develop in around 30% of patients after rapid weight loss following bariatric surgery such as sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, and medications such as Mounjaro and Saxenda also increase the risk. Dr. Mohamed H. Zidan explains that abdominal pain after rapid weight loss should always raise the possibility of gallstones, that an abdominal ultrasound is the first step to confirm them, and that the surgeon then decides whether the gallbladder needs to be removed.‎

The most common condition after weight loss is gallbladder inflammation. Research shows that 30% of patients develop gallstones after rapid weight loss, which is why gallbladder problems are very common after bariatric operations such as sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, and after medications such as Mounjaro and Saxenda. So if a patient comes in with abdominal pain after rapid weight loss, we always think of gallstones. This is where the debate always arises: should the gallbladder be removed or not? That's why, after rapid weight loss, an abdominal ultrasound is essential to confirm whether there are gallstones, and this is where the surgeon's role comes in to make the right decision. I'm Dr. Mohamed Hossam Zidan, and I'll explain what's new in gallbladder surgery.
